U.P. Media failed to show “Granholm-Cherry Tax Lien”

March 25th, 2008 by Keith Almli

Over the past couple of weeks I have been watching an important story unfold as the truth is finally let out. You may not know that the Granholm-Cherry Inaugural Committee is in trouble with the IRS.

The committee owes the Federal Government $19,535 as of 10-09-2006, according to the IRS “Notice of Federal Tax Lien” dated and signed on Feb. 7, 2008, The Granholm-Cherry Committee claims it had no idea and issued the statement

The Inaugural Committee was established to limit taxpayer expenses related to the 2003 inauguration. Our accountants filed tax returns with the IRS. The Committee was dissolved in 2005. The first we heard of the lien was yesterday [Wednesday, March 5th] accountants are obtaining information from the IRS concerning the basis of the lien. We will take all appropriate measures to resolve this issue”

I do know for sure the media in the Lower Peninsula has this story covered. This makes me wonder why it is not covered by the media in the Upper Peninsula.

I have contacted various media outlet throughout the state with no response. In my opinion, it seems very obvious…someone doesn’t want you to know.

If this concerns you as a resident of Michigan, I urge you to find out more and contact your state legislators demanding an answer.

If you would like to research this topic please go to Google and type in “Granholm-Cherry Tax Lien”.

Lahti available in L’Anse April 3

March 25th, 2008 by Keith Almli

State Rep. Mike Lahti (D-Hancock) will meet with constituents at the Village of L’Anse Council Room, from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 3, 2008.
“I encourage residents to come and discuss issues with me that are important to them,” said Lahti. “Hearing directly from my constituents about their concerns enables me to better represent the interests of the western Upper Peninsula in the Michigan Legislature. That helps me to use the resources of my office to help make dealing with any of our state departments quicker and easier for constituents.”
No appointment is necessary. For information call Lahti’s office in Lansing, toll-free 888-663-4031.

How to Post

February 29th, 2008 by baraga

Hello First District GOP Friends. Welcome to our Blogs!

For those who may not be familiar with blogging let me give you a quick tour around our site.

How to post? County Party Leadership - you will need to contact Keith Almli to get signed up - his email address is pcmxnetworks@gmail.com or his phone number is 906.524.2248.

Keith will need the user name that you would like to use and your email address to sign you up to be able to post to your county blog and the first district blog. You will also want to inform him of other people in your county who will be authorised to post on your county blog.

For other people coming to the site who would like to make comments to postings already on either the county blogs or the first district blog, look underneath the postings you will find the word “No Comments” or it may have a “number of comments” you will click on the word Comments and it will open a screen for you to post your comment to any posting already on the site.

If you wonder if other people have made comments to the postings, you will need to see if there are comments “hidden” if it gives a number of comments in the link below the comment.

I hope that I have not completely confused you … but encourage you to have fun reading the postings on the blogs and adding your comments to the blogs.

Happy Postings!
