New Blog Site!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Baraga- On our way home from State Convention a couple weeks ago it was discussed by several people about putting a First District blog site together.  Several people submitted ideas on how to do that.  Keith Almli (Baraga County, left) and Kathy Wells (Mackinac County, right) worked together to bring this discussion to a reality. On behalf of the First District, I’m pleased to announce www.firstgopblogs.com as a new blog site for the District.   Keith has spent several days working on this and we are very proud of him.  We encourage you all to sign up and submit your thoughts.   The site is set up for each County (31 in the First) to submit your information.  Keep the District informed on you latest events or fundraisers or take a moment to tell us how you felt about a State or National issue.1st District- I’m working with the officers to schedule our next First District meeting.  We are planning to have it centrally located in the District within the next 5-6 weeks.  We’ll keep you posted and encourage you all to attend. Our last meeting in Gladwin was a huge success co-hosted by Hubert Fisk and Darlene Conner.  Over 80 people in attendance.   Meetings have been doubling in size since we started.  Thank you all for those who have made them a success.

Hello First District GOP Friends. Welcome to our Blogs!

For those who may not be familiar with blogging let me give you a quick tour around our site.

On the Right Hand side of this screen you will see a list of counties here in our First Congressional District. Click on the county to view postings by people in that county or from other friends across the district.

How to post? County Party Leadership - you will need to contact Keith Almli to get signed up - his email address is pcmxnetworks@gmail.com or his phone number is 906.524.2248.

Keith will need the user name that you would like to use and your email address to sign you up to be able to post to your county blog and the first district blog. You will also want to inform him of other people in your county who will be authorised to post on your county blog.

For other people coming to the site who would like to make comments to postings already on either the county blogs or the first district blog, look underneath the postings you will find the word “No Comments” or it may have a “number of comments” you will click on the word Comments and it will open a screen for you to post your comment to any posting already on the site.

If you wonder if other people have made comments to the postings, you will need to see if there are comments “hidden” if it gives a number of comments in the link below the comment.

I hope that I have not completely confused you … but encourage you to have fun reading the postings on the blogs and adding your comments to the blogs.

Happy Postings!
John Niemela, Houghton
